Wonderful Materials
Wonderful materials! I am planning to use Signing Sam to work with moms in substance abuse therapy who have their children with them. We have had a particularly hard time engaging the mothers and sometimes the kids in our activities.

We Love Having Sam as Part of the Family
My new friend Sam and I get together every morning for some singing and signing. Thanks so much for the pal. We love having Sam as part of the family with Elmo and Barney.

Our Daughter Was Enthralled
We turned on the Sing and Sign With Sam video yesterday and our daughter was enthralled with it. She moved her hands and obviously knew they were an important part of the play. Now, she asks for Sam as often as Ernie and Elmo when she stands by the TV. My resolution is to learn the songs myself so I can really work on the signs with her.

Rudy the Rude Rooster is About the Importance of Kindness, Gentleness, Self-Control
Rudy the Rude Rooster is about the importance of kindness, gentleness, self-control and being more beautiful inside than outside. The book is unusual in that it is multi-lingual, and it is unusual even among multi-lingual books because it incorporates English, Spanish, and American Sign Language (ASL).

The Children Connected with Sam Immediately
The children loved him (Sam). The children connected with Sam immediately and were so engaged with him that they have already involved him in the classroom and on the playground.

I cannot think of a better time to use this inclusive program
Signing is an activity that the special needs child and the typically developing child can do together. I cannot think of a better time to use this inclusive program in our school learning environments.
—Amy Buckner, Montessori Teacher
It gives us more ways to communicate with the children
Learning sign language is beneficial for the teachers as well. It gives us more ways to communicate with the children and more ways that we can encourage the children to communicate with each other.
—Anne Sherman, Preschool Teacher
Sign language should be taught to all children
My family has experienced firsthand the benefits of using sign language to facilitate verbal language development. It also fosters self-confidence in young children at an age when social development is crucial. Sign language should be taught to all children.
—Sarah D. Esser, Mother/Preschool Teacher
Signing Sam™ is such a lovable and delightful little fellow
The children learned so much more than how to sign songs. They were given self-esteem, a joy of learning, and a good foundation in pre-reading skills through letter awareness, and lots of positive practice in attending in a group setting. Signing Sam® is such a lovable and delightful little fellow.
—Sharon and Jim Bright, Growing Together Preschool
She insists on watching it every night!
Thank you so much for the signing supplies — G. absolutely loves them! She insists on watching it every night! She says, “I need Signing Sam movie” and she does the sign for “signing” when she says it. Her favorites are the colors song, the little rooster, and L O V E.
—Stephanie H., Mother of an 18-month-old, Charlotte, NC
This is a child with some extreme behavior challenges
— I witnessed one child standing in front of an alphabet poster doing his ASL ABC’s without the knowledge he was being watched. This is a child with some extreme behavior challenges who was very calmly matching his hand shapes to those on the poster!

Sam has been a big hit in all our More at Four classrooms
Sam has been a big hit in all our More at Four classrooms at L.C. Kerr School. The children have a new friend in the class. I had a few students who figured out Sam hands were mine. It did allow me to see how observant one of my students is!
—Marilyn Arndt, Clinton, NC
The children just love him
Thank you for the ABC posters and Signing Sam®. The children just love him. It is great when I walk into one of our centers and the children ask me, “Where’s my kid, child, Sam, Sammy, Signing Sam, or friend.”
—Sharon Lipe, UCCA, Inc. Montgomery County Head Start
Communication has increased in less than one week
One early success story to note is that one child’s verbalization has increased notably this week and he is a star with assisting others in signing. This is a child with an IEP from New York and notable language delays but he has bonded with Sam and his communication has increased in less than one week. The children in this class are doing very well with the songs on the video. Oh, the stories I can tell you and that I am hearing!
—More at Four Preschool Program, Sampson County, NC
Sam has reached and opened children’s minds
We are seeing Sam do some wonderful things here in Sampson County. We went to a classroom last week and heard how children for the first time this school year are able to recall events in stories and are acting out stories. This is amazing that after only three weeks in the classroom, Sam has reached and opened children’s minds in ways that teachers have been unable to do all year.
—Tracey O., More At Four Preschool Program, Sampson County, NC
Signing Sam™ gives them the confidence to express themselves
I was excited to see that some very introverted children happily take center stage as Signing Sam® gives them the confidence to express themselves in sign language, music, and drama.
